Making things is great - it's a fab way to unwind and a welcome change from being on a computer! I make a lot of things from recycled materials - usually wood, but sometimes metal and other things too.  From lamps and trugs to tables and if I'm honest, lots of things in my house. Using things other people throw away is great - people throw away so much stuff!  I've used old drum kits, windows, pallets, broken bikes and bits of old copper pipe to make all sorts of things.  It's cheap to do and saves me lots of money as I don't have to buy a lot of things that other people do.  Even better, you can make exactly what you want - you're not restricted by what the shops have for sale.  Another bonus is that no one else has the same things in their house!  It's unique which makes it a bit more special.
